I got a phonecall from Flick @ about 9am saything that her and Jane were in Rugeley on the way to my house but they were lost. They told me they were outside the Greenlane stores which was helpful seeing as i didnt know where the greenlane stores are even tho theyre just @ the bottom of my road in a town where ive lived all my life! with my mums help i directed them to my house and by about 9.30am we were on our way.
It didnt take as long as i thought it would to get to Grimsby and we arrived just before 12pm. The tour bus was already at the venue but there was no sign of anyone (except a half naked shannon wondering round the bus brushing his teeth-woo!!) so we decided to go into town and have a look round. We went to Macdonalds, Flick bought postcards and then Amy & Nicky txted to say theyed arrived @ the venue so we went back to meet them.
Not long after we got back to the venue bbb & pete came out, they played frisbee and spoke to us for a while and then they went to have showers. We hung around a bit more and spoke to Kathryn and Liz who were on their way to town to buy a blender coz they wanted to make smoothies, so they went and a few mins later Jemma and Char arrived.
We hung round a bit more, Pete came out again and then shannon came out so we went over to speak to him, Liz & Kathryn came back and suddenly there was about 30 ppl there waiting to go into soundcheck..bbb came out again and signed stuff/had pics taken with a few of the little kids that were there and then it was time for soundcheck...i cant remember what songs they did apart from american in amsterdam coz i havent listend to my tape yet, but i remember bbb singing something like *i like eating strawberries, it makes me feel like i just brushed my teeth*! mike practiced being a real *rock star* doing jumpy things off the podium thingy where petes drums are...
after soundcheck we stayed in the venue for a bit, i spoke to kathryn about my cornwall camping trip thingy and some other sthen we went over to see bbb. After a while the guys had to go but me & flick stayed inside for a bit longer coz shes obsessed with Halo and she wanted to get stuff signed (i dont like their music but the one who looks like stef from placebo is SO cute!)...so flick got pics with halo and then it was time to queue up, we were let into the venue just after 6pm and we waited by the auditorium doors till they opened @ 7pm. this bit was weired coz as soon as u got in there the security ppl made us all sit down n it reminded me of a school assembly or something! at 8pm Halo came on, they were actually better than they were @ any of the other gigs ive been to and a few of the songs are quite catchy but i still dont like them...
9pm it was time for wheatus, they did the usual 'rocky' intro, 'fuck bucket' was renamed 'the grimsby shuffle' which was probably best as there were like really little kids there, probably like 4 or 5 years old!
me n flick held up my *shannon rocks* banner which made them all laugh...there was a chant to get mike to take his top off which he did..hes hairier than i imagined...
bbb kept on spitting on the stage to clear his throat and when i got up for TD i put my hand in a lovely puddle of bbb spit..he got told off about that when i saw him outside!
there was a really annoying girl who kept grabbing bbb and she had a poster with *brendan i declare my undying love* written on it, i mean, i know i took a banner but it was a joke type thing with shannon, not like a *oh my god im totally obsessed with you* kinda banner!
After the gig millions of people waited for them outside and security actually tried to keep us away from them which was weired, especially when they tried to keep Kathryn away from them!
eventually most ppl went and we got to speak to them properly and have hugs and stuff and then it was time to go home, i got in at about 2am and i started my new job this morning @ 9am which was...fun...!
