Chapter 4

At Darien's Apartment (mostly Darien's POV)
Jason: "Hey man, what's up?"
Darien didn't even respond to that. He just gave Jay a look that could kill.
Jason: "Geez, just trying to lighten the mood a little."
Michael: "You know, the child could be yours too."
Darien: "How can it?! I told you what would happen when Serena and I got married! That will never happen!"
At this point Darien was in one of his rages. Everything that was eating at his soul could no longer be suppressed. So, he began throwing things every which way. He started with his favorite vase, then onto some glasses, then some plates, finally to the frame with a picture of him and Serena. He held the frame in his hand and couldn't break it. He then placed it againsthis chest and cried,
"Why?! Why?! We've waited for over a thousand years for each other. We've faced so many evil forces, we've even died for each other! Why must we be separated! Is this some kind of sick joke!? Because if it is, I'm not laughing!"
Jason: "It's ok Dare, it'll work out for you and Serena."
Darien: "Easy for you to say, you have Rei, and you have Mina . . . I'll never be able to have the one I love, . . .never!"
No more could be said. They knew he was right. They stood there and watched as their Prince lost complete control. The one thing that could make him better and happy, was the one thing he could not have.

Unbeknownst to them, someone was watching them.
"Poor Prince Darien. The fool doesn't realize that the child is his. No matter, if he doesn't think he can have her, that just means that I can . . . "
The hologram of the three men disappeared and another took its place. It was of a sleeping Neo-Queen Serenity. Diamond stared at it with awe.
"So beautiful, so very beautiful, and soon all mine!"

Darien's POV
That night, Darien's soul was broken. He could no longer hide anything anymore.
'I shouldn't do this, but I want my Serena back. She can't have anyone else's child. She has to have mine, and be mine. Sorry Rini, but your father is going to have to deal with me before he can have her . . . Listen to me! I sound like some jealous stalker! What am I thinking?! What am I doing?! . . . It really doesn't matter anymore, without Serena, I'm nothing. I want her back!'
So, out of pure selfishness he used the link he and Serena shared, and fell asleep.
