Nothing At All

A tall boy stood in the lobby of the Winner Estate, his bag flung lazily over his shoulder. With his free hand, he pushed his long, brown bangs out of his face, and looked around at his surroundings, until small, whimpering sound in the adjacent room captured his attention. He walked into the brightly-lit sitting room, and looked around questioningly. His emerald eyes finally focused on the image of a small boy curled in a ball on the couch and as he stared at the sleeping figure, his lips curling into a slight smile. He positioned himself next to the Arabian, and gently played with one of his blond locks. The boy leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes as long forgotten memories surfaced in his unconscious…

                                                           NOTHING AT ALL
                                                        (a Gundam Wing Song Fic)
                                                 By Miki Robasu ( sulia_18@yahoo.com )

You’ve been there for me,
No matter what the cost.
My best friend since we,
Believed in Santa Claus...
A young child sat all alone on a park bench, tears streaming down his face as large sobs escaped his tiny chest.
“What’s da matta?” A small voice pulled the lone boy from his thoughts. He looked up and found himself staring into two perfect blue orbs, lightly brushed with blond bangs.
You have always stood beside me,
And I want to let you know...
“Why do you cry?” The strange boy blinked, his large eyes filled with genuine concern.
“I...I’m all alone,” he sniffed as tears once again threatened to spill. “I don’t got a family.” The boy was startled as a tiny, porcelain hand reached out and wiped the stray tears from his eyes.
“Don’t worry,” the blond smiled. “I be you family now.”
The brown haired boy looked up, his glistening green eyes wide at the grinning boy and, very slowly, returned the smile.
I’ll be the one who hears your prayer,
You don’t have to ask me I’ll be there.
I’ll be the friend you’ll never have to do with out, no.
When you have nothing at all,
You’ll still have nothing to worry about.
Oh nothing at all...
The sun sank further into the horizon as the two youths approached a huge building. The taller boy stopped outside and stared up at it in shock.
“Y...you live here?” he asked, wide-eyed. The blond nodded, as he followed his gaze up the side of the structure.
“Yeah. I live here with my daddy and my sistas.”
“You got sisters?” The smaller boy nodded in response.
“Yep. I got a hundred sistas!” The blond put his hands to his mouth while he giggled, as the brunette looked at the ground, forlorn.
“You lucky...” The small boy stopped laughing and walked up to him.
“You lucky, too.” The taller boy’s head snapped up in confusion.
    “I am?”
“Now they your sistas too.” The boy flashed a huge grin and grabbed hold of his hand. “Come on!” he yelled, pulling his new friend behind him.
When I was lost inside,
A forest of dismay.
You always knew just how,
To help me find my way...
“This is my room!” the blond exclaimed happily, as he flailed his arms around.
“Wow...Cool!” The brown haired boy walked around the room examining everything with his eyes, but never touching anything, due to a fear of breaking it. “You got neat toys.”
“Yeah,” he laughed. “Oh! Look at this!” He pulled the brunette to the other side of the room, and thrust a sheet of paper at him. The boy looked down to see a picture filled with colorful people. “This is daddy,” he explained pointing to the tall man in the middle. “These are my sistas...and that is Quatre.” The blond grinned proudly as he pointed at the picture of himself.
“Quatre...?” the tall boy asked, and received a nod.
    “Yup. I’m Quatre Raberba Winner.”
    “That’s a long name.”
“Daddy says that the more important you are, the longer name you gots.” Quatre looked up and smiled at his friend. “You must got a really long name!”
The brown haired boy looked down at his feet, his eyes wavering sadly. “I...I don’t got a name...”
In a world that’s so uncertain,
I will promise this to you...
“Huh?” Quatre looked at his sad friend, a smiled a little. He walked over and placed his hand on his chest, holding his other hand close to his own heart. “I feel that your sad...” He opened his eyes, and gave him a slightly pained smile, before whispering to him. “You don’t got to be sad no more...I’ll be here with you always.”
I’ll be the one who hears your prayer,
You don’t have to ask me I’ll be there.
I’ll be the friend you’ll never have to do with out, no.
When you have nothing at all,
You’ll still have nothing to worry about.
Oh no...
“Trowa...Trowa...” a wispy voice called to him, pulling him from the blissful past, and into the cold present. His eyes parted gently, and he found himself staring into those same blue orbs as in his memory.
    “Quatre...”
“Morning sleepy head!” The blond Arabian giggled. “Did you have a nice dream?” he asked with a wink.
Trowa laughed at the wide-eyed boy he had grown to love, or,  more precisely...had loved all along.    “Yeah...you could say that.”
    “Really?”
Trowa wrapped his arms around the boy’s small figure and lowered his head. “Really.” The brunette closed the gap and kissed him soundly on the mouth. And the cold, bleak present seemed to glimmer into a warm, bright future.
When you have nothing at all,
You’ll still have nothing to worry about.
