I already had three plants of 'Yaku Princess' before I bought this one at Frank's Nursery and Crafts, in Spring, 1999. I bought this one because of a variegated branch, which is barely visible in this picture. This plant is very hardy, like the other Shammarello hybrids, and has an excellent habit, spreading and dense. The flowers are a very nice appleblossom faint pink to white, and often I have seen this plant completely covered with flowers in the garden center, with hardly a leaf visible.
With four plants, I haven't managed to kill one 'Yaku Princess' yet, and I assume that it will be just great for the landscape. Mine are planted in too much shade, I think, and probably should be planted in full sun. Shammarello's nursery, where he bred all of his plants, had no trees and no shade.
