Orange Honey 'Orange Honey'

'Orange Honey' is quite a bit of an exaggeration for the flower color, as you can see here. It is a nice plant though, and is not leggy like I have heard, since it gets plenty of sun in the summer. The registration claims that it is bud hardy to -28F, and I have even heard that it is hardy to -35F. I don't know what to believe, but it is a nice plant with elegant flowers, and probably is very hardy.

Most of Orlando Pride's hybrids are considered to be very hardy, and according to Dr. Jim Browning, Pride's azaleas are about as hardy as evergreen azaleas can get. Pride also was a prolific breeder of hollies. This plant was purchased at the ARS Ann Arbor chapter's plant sale in Spring, 1999.
