This plant was purchased and planted around October, 1995, and has been there ever since. It has been completely hardy here. It has one of the longest spines of any of my prickly pears, and has the showiest fruit. It looks almost like it belongs in Mexico, which is the look I wanted when I planted all the cacti.

This plant came from the Michigan Cactus and Succulent Society's plant sale. This is a great source of cuttings and potted plants.
