Existential Intelligence

Howard Gardner had stated that his Theory of Multiple Intelligence is on-going and is not a "finite number.' At one time Gardner was looking into a spiritual intelligence, however based upon his criteria earlier presented felt that the spiritual intelligence did not meet that criteria.

At this time another intelligence that Howard Gardner is researching is existential not spiritual, but it has spiritual implications. Remember he is still researching this intelligence, therefore it is not considred a full intelligence yet.

As Gardner stated in an interview "Spirituality is not well defined using my criteria or defintion of intelligence, but humans may have the proclivity, to ask fundamental questions like: Who are we? Why do we live? Why do we die? Why is there a world and so on?"

From what we have read and gathered this type of person is comfortable asking and answering these questions. It reminds us of Maslow's Hierarchy of needs and the highest order being self-actualization.
