Last Game: Colorado Avalanche 1 at Calgary Flames 0 CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Colorado Avalanche recorded their franchise-record 50th win as rookie David Aebischer posted his third shutout and Chris Drury scored a power-play goal late in the third period for a 1-0 triumph over the Calgary Flames.

Colorado broke the mark set by the 1996-97 club, which won 49 games the year after capturing the Stanley Cup. The Avalanche continued their drive toward another championship with their sixth win in seven games, moving eight points ahead of Detroit in the race for the Presidents' Trophy. Aebischer stopped 29 shots and helped Colorado kill all seven Calgary power plays. The 23-year-old native of Switzerland has won five straight starts and has not lost since February 15.

Fred Brathwaite dueled Aebischer deep into the third period before Flames defenseman Denis Gauthier was penalized for roughing with 4:52 remaining. Just 13 seconds later, Drury took a pass from Ray Bourque and one-timed a blast from above the left faceoff circle that hit Brathwaite and popped over the goaltender's right shoulder.

It was Drury's 23rd goal of the season, 10th on the power play and fifth game-winner.

The goal came on the game's 42nd shot and ended Brathwaite's shutout streak at 160 minutes, seven seconds. It eclipsed the team record of 159:40 set by teammate Mike Vernon from December 12-19, 1992.

Aebischer made the lead stand, sliding to get a piece of Craig Conroy's shot from low in the left circle with 2:08 left and getting help from Shjon Podein, who blocked Valeri Bure's drive from the top of the left circle with 15 seconds to go.

Brathwaite made 15 saves for the Flames, who were trying for their third straight win but have lost the last five home meetings with the Avalanche.
