The LowDown from Nintendo

I recently got the Lowdown from NOA(Nintendo of America) about a Zelda movie and possibly the re-release of the cartoon. Although the future for a future Zelda game is kind of icey currently, it could change in the near future.

A few days ago, I e-mailed Nintendo about the movie, and here is what I e-mailed them, and the response that Erika gave me:

This is what I wrote:

Dear Nintendo,

Due to the booming success of The Legend of Zelda; Ocarina of Time, I have often wondered why you haven't considered bringing the cartoon back on the station or creating a movie. I, for one, know that it would be a great success.

Ocarina of Time did so well, that I'm wondering why you don't create a cartoon or movie. I know that they would do very well, now, since Ocarina of Time seemed to have more sales than the first game, The Legend of Zelda, did about 14 years ago. Please consider everything I have said.

Sincerely,

Jenny A.

And here was the response I received:

Hi Jenny!

I haven't heard of any plans right now to re-release the old Zelda cartoon, or produce a new one, but I always enjoy hearing about the products in which our fans are interested.

As you may remember, even though we're not involved in the motion picture industry, six movies based on Nintendo games have been produced in the past several years: Super Mario Bros. The Movie, Street Fighter, Double Dragon, two Mortal Kombat movies, and Pokemon The Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back. We haven't heard of any plans for a big-screen version of a Zelda game, but you never know what the future may hold!

If a cartoon or a movie is announced for release, we'll post information about it on our web site. (www.nintendo.com) One more thing, I wanted to let you know that we are inviting all of our consumers with Internet access to sign-up for the Nintendo Power Source and receive free E-mail updates about all of the hottest Nintendo news. You can sign-up at: http://www.nintendo.com/newsletter.html. Thanks for taking the time to send us a message. Have fun with your games, and remember, the best play here!

There you have it. That was how I confronted Nintendo of America, but it still doesn't look very good for a Zelda movie or the re-release of the game. Perhaps we should all get to work and sign a petition? Anyway, to get back to the mainpage, click Here
