Paintball Field Reviews

The Battlegrounds (currently closed)
This was the first field that The X Squadron ever played at. We played there about 4 times. Their fields were great. They had a village field with two story huts, an excellent jungle field with a large slope, and a fortress field that we could never figure out how to beat. Their prices were fairly high, but nothing we weren’t used to, and they seemed good compared to other fields. Their field was field paint only, but they always sold good stuff at a decent price. Currently, The Battlegrounds is relocating because the lease on their property ended. They are looking to build somewhere in Romulus, MI. However, they do have a store now which we visit quite frequently. We are known there, as we have given out brochures for them and we hope to help them build their new field. A link to their site is HERE.

Hell Survivors
This field is by far our favorite field. I have played there three times, and it is the home to my first flag hang (and The X Squadron's first flag hang as a group.) Our favorite part about it is that it is bring-your-own-paint. And the admission cost is only $10. They have an excellent village field with realistic downed airplanes and personnel carriers. They also have numerous other fields such as a jungle field (The Everglades) and a field located on an enormous cliff (The Masters.) Hell Survivors is host to such events like Wayne Dollack scenario games, The Michigan Monster Game, and The Tippmann Challenge (which we will be attending.) Follow the link to their website HERE

SplattBall City
This is an indoor field located in downtown Detroit (ghetto.) We have only played here once. It is an indoor field that is enclosed in an abandoned warehouse. The fields aren’t heated, and it gets mighty cold with the windows being all shot out. The prices were pretty expensive, but reasonable for indoor. We liked the field overall, but the floor was sawdust, making it a little slippery. They do not have a web site.

Lone Wolf Indoor
This is also an indoor field in Detroit. We have also only played here once. The area is a little better than SplattBall city. Their prices are also pretty expensive, but the staging area is very clean and the fields are great because the windows are not broken, making it warmer, and the floor is wood chips, not sawdust. Their website is HERE

Futureball Paintball Park
This field is located close to Hell Survivors, but it is in Whitmore Lake, MI. The field is outdoor and is accompianied by a showroom/store. We have only played one time there, and it was a big game, so we didn't see all of the field. What we saw was decent, but the staff seemed way to lax on safety. Guns were being fired in the dead zone and ignored. We might try this place again for walk on someday because it's cheap, but the place is really only decent at best. Their website is HERE
