A star shines down to the sea at night to guide a sailors way,
The moonlight night will give him light from darkness though till day.
The seagulls fly from heavens high and perch upon the wood,
The breeze will blow upon his hair and nature's understood.
A storm will come upon the sea, the ship will toss about,
The captain lost and weather past and sailor fills with doubt.
Now sailor must take hold of life and question it no more,
Put to rest all distant past and grief that it once bore.
Soon sailor is the captain now and future he has seen,
He puts his faith in God above and unto him he'll lean.
He'll learn from that as he grows old, he'll marry then he'll smile,
He'll leave this world for heaven's gates and wait for her a while.
They'll join each other on golden roads and forever love and be,
Remembering the long lost days of the sailor lost at sea.
