An ache almost too much to bear,
a crushing pain, bringing tears.
Shall I count them one by one?
each a drop from my heart falling down,
smothering me, their weight so heavy.
But I cannot count so fast, so many,
nor see beyond your reflection
mirrored there in minute perfection.
One, where once there were two,
so alone, yet all I can see is you.
