Pinhook Cemetery, New Durham Township, LaPorte County, Indiana

This is a picturesque cemetery with about 400-500 gravestones in the tiny hamlet of Pinhook. Some of the families found in this cemetery are:

Augustine, Baird, Benson, Betz, Burner, Cougill, Davis, Denning, Draves, Easton, Flood, Glass, Halliday, many Herrold, Hildebrand, LeRoy, Medaris, Miller, Morman, Poston, Ritenour, Rotzean, Seberger, Sibbrell, Smith, Wickersham, Wing, Wixon

Partial list of gravestones in Pinhook Cemetery. This list only includes the gravestones located in the old, southwestern part of the cemetery {shown above}. I started at the west fence, going eastwards. This listing was taken directly from the legible stones and is as accurate as possible. I am in the process of coordinating this index with one taken by the La Porte Co. D.A.R. in 1947-49. The items shown in blue text were not discernable to me, but were recorded in the original D.A.R. index. It should be noted that although there are many other gravestones in this cemetery, probably 90% of the oldest stones are listed below.
