May Presidents Message
Four score and, no that’s the wrong message. Looking forward I can see e-commerce. Yes MKC will be looking for people to pre-register on-line. Maybe not this year but it probably won’t be to long. I met with Roger at Bill’s to start us down the credit card road. Talk about options. I wonder if we could talk those folks into sponsoring our racing? We haggled for several hours before settling for the pc-based software. Come to the meeting and find out the details.
I spent the weekend of the 6th of May in Ohio watching the Dart event. This time I went as an observer and to help promote our sponsors’ stake in the Mid-States Series. Made sure the banners got placed and their names were announced as often as possible. Mostly I wanted to observe. I wanted to see and listen to what the karters thought were good ideas and what they didn’t like. I went to make sure some of the things that were missed there would not be missed at our event. Also I want our event to be as consistent as possible with the other clubs so when karters travel to different places they don’t get as confused with what is expected. We had our board meeting and went over the details. When you go and if you go to Road America to race, take some time to jot down how they do things and if you think it’s a good ideal bring it to a meeting to discuss. I don’t mind stealing good ideals. Look for the 2000 Mid-States questionnaire that Dave Cole did up for us. Fill it out and turn it in so we know what you want. And just to see if you are reading this, someone at the meeting will have a chance to win a million dollars. No kidding.
