Siren

Crested foam ever-changing

Velvet rush and hush, shimmering

Sparkling clear turquoise grey

Under the weigh of the streaked sky

Patterned murmur, still and rolling

Rippled light gleaming streaming

Curling in endless breaking waves

Dark vast horizon to the end of time

Clean glistening soft sand

Indentations in the ground

Marking those who have been

Solid and sure, smooth-grooved wood

Pooling into the forever shore

Thin whisps mark the end and the beginning

Straddle the barrier between worlds

Carried by the east, winging its way

Coursing a path of wind and water

Song of freedom tears through the

Unbroken stillness, slips through your fingers

As certain as grains in the sands of time

And the sea-smooth pebbles

Washed up by the tide
