The picture to your left, features the original Gyrl group. Over the years Gyrl has went through several different members, yet managed to keep the same sound and style. Their names are Miyoko (a Japanese name, pronounced me-YO-ko), and Jamila (a Swahili name, pronounced ja-ME-lah), are sisters who were born to a mother who's Japanese and Black and a father who's Black and Native-American. Most of the lead vocals on their debut single are sung by their play "cousin" Paulette. Their sound is sweet, feminine and backed by youthful confidence and self-assured delivery. The look is innocent, but shaped by the street sounds that have inspired their music. The group is GYRL, a lovely teen-aged trio from Los Angeles. One listen, one look, and you'll be hooked.
