Umm Al Fayaryn

On the Friday morning we set sail for Fayaryn Island, plainly visible the evening before, however the early morning haze hid it from view when we left Ras Dilla

We were in the water before 10:00, and the viz was incredible. Huge shoal of large Brown Surgeonfish (Acanthurus nigrofuscus) swam by stacks of table coral. We dropped down to 30 metres and found several large rays resting in various spots.

We made a second dive on the same area, although some others did go further around the island. More rays, but the highlight was a real bunch of friendly batfish, that just posed for me.

Following this dive we sailed on to Dawat Qabal and five of us made another dive before setting up the BBQ on the beach. Viz was bad due to lots of nuitrients but surprisingly lots of corals in fantastic condition despite spotting quite a few Crown of Thorns.

The BBQ was a premium social event, what else can I say
