Musandam continued

Well the next two dives on Red Island and Honeycomb Rock were quiet, slow and relaxing.

Turtles, Morays, Batfish and a plethora of Indian Ocean reef fish feasted our eyes, and my camera too. Several Crown of Thorns were spotted plus Pillow Stars, but very little reef damage due to these creatures.

The night dive proved to be a bit of a disappointment as we entered the water at dusk, which in my view was far too early. With sunset at 7pm we should have waitied until at least 9pm, no wonder Martin did not rate night dives if this is the way he normally made them.

Overnight we moved position to GHUBBAT ASH SHABUS and Martin left at 5am with one of the guys (Neil), who had to be at a meeting in Dubai by 12:30.

By an amazing coincidence they ran out of fuel (again)!

We made out next dive from Charlotte Anne and as Yvette was rather ill I was given the task as dive leader and off we went for a beautiful morning dive.

We moved on to Khor Habalaya, after a massive fry up (no tattie scones though) and a second dive was done in the bay which again proved to be very good with a greater variety of hard corals than on previous dives.

With bad weather slowing our return to Dibba, some partying ensued and the night voyage terminated around 6am on Sunday morning.

The trip was eventful but despite the few problems such as Yvette being seasick most of the time, and the tender running out of fuel (twice, although the second time it was more serious), this was a brilliant trip. The skipper of Charlotte Anne a great guy, his wife (Renate) an amazing cook, and his son ... well best left to Chris to call him whatever ... ha ha. Udi and his wife the other crew members made us all welcome, I'll be back.
