Q: If you were abducted by aliens and they were going to erase all but one of your memories, which memory would you keep and why? Larkin, 15, Cowan
A: Well...there have been so many memories that I adore to this day, and having to choose to keep one solitary memory among them all, is pretty tough. Yet I might have to say, my very first cruise. It was seven days of non-stop excitement and FUN. Also, it was an experience in itself in which I felt I learned how to really...enjoy life. I basically felt a little older as I stepped off that ship on the last day.
Q: Is there any expression or saying that has always motivated you? Cristalina, 14, Alta Loma
A: MANY. Usually, it is "stay in the moment," because I tend to be very analytical in certain situations... and one that I used just yesterday, "roll with the punches." I had a sailing trip planned with my buddy Darrin. We got down there and prepped the boat and as I opened up the dock box, I saw NO gas tank/can. It had been stolen. I didn't even blink an eye. I told myself that expression, casually got in my car, got another one and before we knew it, we were out in the open sea.
Q: What is the best thing someone has ever said to you? Carrie, 15, Clovis
A: Well, someone had once suggested something to me which had an impact from then on. I was sailing with my friend Eddie and we were in pitiful wind...so I was bitching on and on about the fact that there was hardly any wind and that we were barely even moving...when Ed cuts me off and says, 'Dude, Erik, look around man. There is not a cloud in sight. We've got good tunes playing...on a beautiful sunny day along the coast.' And so, I looked around myself. It was like an eye-opener...and from that moment on I realized that in life, if you are content with what you are given, it will make you a better person in general AND after I sat back and relaxed...the winds started chuggin' and we were flying.
Q: If you could choose anyone, which actress would you want to work with? Chelsea, 12, Seattle
A: Well, I think someone with the caliber of Pamela Anderson would be a delight to work with...NOT. Let's see...probably Meryl Streep, Ashley Judd, Winona Ryder, Jodie Foster, Kirsten Dunst...and the list goes on.
Q: Have you ever had to deal with a loved one moving away. If yes, how did you feel? What did you do to ease the pain? Tiffini, 14, Pell Lake
A: Well, so far back as I can remember, my oldest sister, Dolly, has lived at least a plane ride away from me. Dolly is one of the most loving and caring, along with funny, person I know. After she got married and had a baby, I grew close to the three of them. Living three thousand miles away from someone you love can get hard. How do I feel? Well, when they visit for a week or so, and then go back home, it leaves me with an empty/alone feeling inside...and to ease the pain? Why, Tylenol of course.
Q: What do you look for in a girl and why? Amber, 12, Smyrna
A: Well, I've answered this question many times so I will try to avoid redundancy. In a girl, I look for someone who can related to me in more than one way. Someone who shares the same opinions, along with struggles. Someone who is not the least bit full of themselves, yet at the same time, can carry themselves with confidence. A girl who can put a smile on my face...see right through me...can be decisive, but not to the point that my opinion doesn't matter. And finally, someone who will always be honest.
Q: Do you wish you got more privacy? Stephanie, 11, Milford
A: It hasn't come to that point yet. Honestly. My privacy is never invaded (except for my little sister of course), and I hope that it will never reach the point to where paparazzi is involved.
Q: Do you have a busy schedule and if so, would you mind describing a little of what it is like? Ashley, 13, Easley
A: Lately, my schedule has been pretty low key. I've been spending time on my boat, golfing, gyming, getting together with good friends along with taking meetings for possible upcoming projects and taking interviews, much like this one!
Q: Do you have a website and can we email you on it? Kara, 15, Long Beach
A: WHY YES I DO! erik.celebrityboulevard.com and there is an email option on there. It is a cool website anyway, so I encourage you to check it out.
Q: Do you plan on making any movies or are you just going to stick to television? Beth, 15, Dallas
A: TV is very fun and fulfilling to do...but in the longterm, I plan to be a movie actor because in movies, you do not have to obey certain content rules, you are not under a time pressure and just all around, much more time and hard work is put into a movie. Don't get me wrong, the advantage of TV over movies is mostly character development. Odd Man Out was a great experience because those 13 episodes gave me a chance to REALLY get to know my character, and give him certain characteristics as time went on.
Q: I know you play guitar. Are you in a band? Heather, 17, Grayson
A: NO. At the moment, I am not. I have a friend who is in a few bands though and I've watched them just jam all together and it looks like something that would be so COOL, but I don't have the motivation or diligence to really sit down everyday for an hour or so and just PRACTICE until my playing is "band worthy."
Q: If you could do something different with your life, what would it be? Kandee, 13, Edmonton
A: I'm young, and that leaves nearly everything open for me, if I put my mind to it. This is something I would have to think about for awhile. I may want to pursue a totally opposite field...like law for example. Or I may want to stay in the business and pursue directing. Most likely directing will be my passion later on in life.
Q: Why did you cut your hair? Krista, 13, North Carolina
A: Because I wanted to get some of Brad Pitt's babe overflow...It was just something that HAD to be done. Having long hair was just a constant nuisance.
Q: Do you think the Taco Bell dog is cute? Jessica, 14, Canada
A: I think he is mad cool because every girl on this planet swoons over him. So, what can I say? The beady-eyed pooch has my respect.
Q: What kinds of things drive you crazy? Jennifer, 15, Ovett
A: Ummm, no pun intended, but Britney Spears does. Hmmm, what else? People who steal, anal drivers, people who will often play with or rub their own feet, biting nails, wool, police officers that will ticket you for going 27 in a 25, unibrows...and the list goes on.
Q: What's your favorite place you've ever been? Christina, 14, Ft. Walton
A: A cruise ship, Mexico, Bahamas, New York, Montana and VANCOUVER.
Q: If you had to lose one of your senses, which one would you want to lose and why? Amber, 16, Tucson
A: Ohhhhhhh, I always feel like I'm going to jinx myself if I answer this question...God, what a sick thought. Okay, here goes, sight. Got to have it for so many things in life...to see my family in the future and all other loved ones...to drive. Occupation-wise, all of the fields I may want to pursue require sight...thus, I would keep sight. Sound. Gotta be able to hear. I can't imagine going through life without being able to hear a single THING so I'd keep hearing. I'll put it in a nutshell. I couldn't lose the sense of touch or taste so I suppose I could live without being able to smell things. Hey, that might actually come in handy. In some of those public bathrooms? Ahhhh!
Q: When was your first kiss? Erin, 13, Provo
A: My first kiss with TONGUE was in sixth grade...and it was with an eighth grader...yeah, that was kind of rare...a sixth grader getting to kiss an eighth grader. How was the kiss? HORRIBLE with a capital "H." It was from a dare from some friends (aren't they all?) and I was so nervous. At the time, it felt like the last thing in the WORLD I'd want to do...quite the opposite now.
Q: What was your favorite hobby as a kid? QTchick, 13, Provo
A: Lego building!!!!!! I was the ultimate lego-maniac. I still have my lego paradise up in my closet. As a kid, I spent endless hours in my closet building and building and building...what do you say? Describe it to you? Alright then. It contained an airport with nine jets, control tower, elevator, city hall, houses galore, apartment buildings, hospital and my god, the list goes on.
Q: Did you ever wish at some time that you had a regular life and were a regular kid? Carrie, 15, Clovis
A: All the time. I think I missed out on so much in the past ten years that I have been working in this business. I never got the chance to partake in all of the things that normal high-schoolers do such as the football games every Friday night. Who knows, maybe I would have been head QB...or even a science nerd. The point is middle and high school, in my opinion, seem like the boot camp for life itself...and I missed out on that. While they are all going to Homecoming and prom, I am going to some industry party with a bunch of fake adults. Now, don't get me wrong, I would not trade in my career in a heart beat for the high school experience. I'm just recommending to whomever is reading this and is thinking of starting up in this business, WAIT. Go through school and college, and then take a few classes and see if it is really something that interests you. But, don't take a plane to L.A., ditch your friends and family in order to pursue an extremely competitive and unreliable job unless you know it's the path for you and that you are ready to accept the consequences.
Q: Throughout your career as an actor, what has been your favorite performance? Risa & Beck, 13, & 12, Aberdeen
A: Back in the day, when I was age 9-11, I was on Days of Our Lives and I did some of my best work of my career on that show. There would be weeks that I would do nothing but pull up tears for those heavily emotional scenes...and it was TOUGH but the best damn training any actor can get.
Q: What's your favorite pizza topping? Stephanie, 11, Milford
A: Is there some kind of underlying meaning to this question? Like if I say, mushrooms, I'm a sensitive person? Because if not, why would any of you care what kind of pizza topping I like? I mean, unless we're going to go out and share a seventeen incher...but I like cheese-lots of cheese.
Q: What kind of laundry detergent do you use to wash your towels?
A: Ha, ha, ha...just jokin' around. I made that one up. Thought it would go along well with the preceding questions.
Q: When is your birthday? Cami, 14, Lake City
A: October 3rd...BC...plastic surgery can work miracles.
Q: What was your all time favorite movie?
A: Get Shorty baby.
