Seven Rivers Warriors
Who these men are is the subject of much debate. The man standing at left is definitely Jim Jones and the man seated at right is definitely Jim's older brother, John Jones. The man seated at left was identified as Bob Speaks by Bill and Sam Jones, the younger brothers of John and Jim Jones as well as the owners of the original tintype of the above photo. Bill and Sam also identified the man standing at right as Billy the Kid. Lincoln County War researcher Eve Ball said the man seated at left was Buck Powell and the man standing at right was Marion F. Turner. If the one man is Billy the Kid, then the photo was taken before the Lincoln County War when the Jones boys and the Seven Rivers Warriors were friends of Billy.

This is an enlargment of the man standing on the right in the above photo. This man has been identified by the Jones family as being Billy the Kid.
