The Staircase
This photo depicts the interior staircase leading to the second-story. It was on these stairs that Dep. James Bell was shot by Billy the Kid before he stumbled out the backdoor and fell dead. The photo was taken from the top looking downward and gives the view Billy himself probably had before shooting Bell. It is claimed that the large chunk taken out of the wall in the center of the photo was the work of Billy's bullet, which hit the wall first, then ricocheted into Bell's abdomen.
The Window
This exterior photo shows the second-story window of the room where Billy was confind. It was also from this window that Billy shot and killed Dep. Bob Olinger with his own shotgun. Looking up, this photo gives the view Olinger himself probably had right before Billy shot him.
Inside the Window
This image was taken from inside the House, looking out from Billy's window. This is the view Billy would have had just before killing Olinger. The white brick on the ground marks the spot where Olinger fell.
