The Major Regulators
This lists the major Regulators. The Regulators were a group of young men that ranged from 14 years old to 30 years old. Some of them, such as Dick Brewer, John Middleton, Henry Brown, Fred Waite, and Billy the Kid himself, were employed by rancher John Henry Tunstall. After Tunstall was killed by Murphy-Dolan-Riley gunmen, Tunstall's lawyer and friend, Alexander Anderson McSween formed "the Regulators." The Regulators, having been legally deputized by Justice of the Peace John Wilson, were formed for the purpose of serving the warrants that were issued for Tunstall's murderers. After the war ended, the group's members slowly left one-by-one and went their own ways. The last few members moved to Tascosa, Texas, where they subsequently disbanded the group in early November of 1878. If you have any questions on any of them or would like to know more about them, just e-mail me.
