METALLICA AND NAPSTER
My view
on this is simple. I have paid so many times (i play the tapes so
much i wear them out) for every metallica album (except that
shitty one with that symphony *rolls eyes*) that i feel more than
entitled to download their music for free. A band like metallica
(who gained every ounce of fame they had by the 90's from word of
mouth, for example, i gotta tape, liked it, recorded it for
someone else, so on and so forth) should not be whining about
people having access to your tunes without paying for them.
AND I HAVE PAID FOR THEM
DAMNIT!!!
I feel like their whining has interfered with other newer artist's ability to take advantage of the internet to increase their own popularity. You know of all the tunes i have downloaded i would honestly say i have paid for the royalties on more than 90% of them, and of the remaining 10% i plan on buying music by those artists. These artists i would never had planned on spending money on, if i had not downloaded their tunes from Napster.
So here
is a gift, from me, to those of you too cheap to pay for another
file exchange program, too pissed off to pay napster any money,
and still wanna musicize your puter,
