Things You Need to Know

ACTION has a rich tradition of service. Begun decades ago in Detroit to aid immigrant settlers, it now serves the entire lower peninsula of Michigan as a volunteer auxiliary group devoted to supporting Lutheran Social Services of Michigan (LSSM), one of the largest Social Services Agencies in Michigan. We do that in a great many ways.
We try very hard to fulfil needs that can't be fit into LSSM's budget. There aren't enough of us. We need your help. As this site is built, we hope you'll see many ways that you can commit to help.
We hope you'll see ways to make a commitment -- whether for a year -- or for a short time.
And if you're buried in the heavy task of work and family and you're wondering where more time would come from -- consider a small annual pledge of financial support to ACTION.
No big commitment. There's a lot of people on fixed incomes who send in $10 a year and we're mighty thankful for all of them.
Contributions should be made payable to ACTION for Lutheran Social Services of Michigan and mailed to the treasurer (see the contact page). You WILL get an acknowledgement which will be adequate to support this as a charitable donation on your federal tax return.
