"Mother! You can't do this to me!" Serenity cried."Serena,I'm sorry.But you cannot see this boy.He is older than you and you need someone your own age."The respectable Moon Queen was symathetic but firm in saying this."But fourteen and seventeen hasen't that much difference!"Serena replied,crystal tears decending down her face.
Queen Serenity and her daughter were in the ballroom.Across from them sat Queen Gaia,King Richard,and Prince Endyminion of the royal Earth family.The lovely moon queen masaged her forhead."Serena,don't make this harder then it already is.I know you love him.But he is not of your age.Please try and understand."
Serena looked up,her eyes full of tears."Understand?! The only thing I understand is that you are trying to destroy true love." Serenity was upset that she had to to this but she said,"I hearby declare that the Princess of the White Moon and the Prince of Earth will not be premitted to see each other.They will be given one day to say goodbye.At noon tomarrow,the prince will be teleported back to Earth.
Endyminion could hardly believe what he heard.'One day? That's not enough time to express how much I love her.' he thought.But he didn't protest.He just escorted the crying princess out the door and up the marble staircase to her room.
"Oh,Darien"she said."They can't make us be apart.Why are they doing this?They must have a better reason then 'You're to young for him". "I know,my princess,I know.Come on now.If this is our last day together,lets make the best of it.Would you do me the favor of joining me for a walk?"He hald out his hand.She nodded meekly,then placed her slender fingers on his hand.
They walked through the palace gardens for quite some time.Serena stopped when they came to a beautiful pond.The starlight reflected of the shimmering water,causing the pond to glow."Crystal Pond."Serenity sighed.She turned to Darien."When I was little,I thought this pond contained magical powers.I believed water sprites and fairies lived here."She looked up at the stars."Oh,to be that young again.To have no worries or cares."
Darien stroked her blonde hair.He pulled her lips toward his and gave her a deep,passionate kiss.She seemed a little surprised.After all,she haden't expected that.But soon she just relaxed in the tenderness of the moment.When he let go she whispered,"I don't want to lose you."
Just as the morning came,Serena woke up.They were laying by Crystal Pond.She nudged Darien.
"Darien.Wake up,my love."
Darien awoke from his sleep.The first thing he saw was a pair of saphire blue eyes looking down at him."Come on,sleepyhead.Lets go inside."They got up and raced to the castle.
The two lovers sat in Serena's chambers talking,thinking,and stroking her fiesty black cat,Luna.It was perfect untill two gaurds,Dante' and Philip,came in with Queen Serenity.The Royal Earth family followed.."Serena,it is time for Darien to leave."the queen stated.
Serena burst into tears and wraped her arms around Darien."Shhh.....It's alright.I'll be back one day,I promise you."Everyone,even the two gaurds,had tears in their eyes.They shared one last kiss before the gaurds pulled them apart and carried him away.Queen Gaia held up a purple teleportation crystal and they vanished.
The princess cried until her mouth and eyes ached with pain.'My sweet Darien.They can't take our love away.That is the only thing they can't take from us.'
