Chapter One

Michiru-chan gazed at me from afar with a sad face. I knew that face well now. Ever since I kicked her out of my apartment, all we gave each other were sad looks. We missed each other, but we couldn't avoid the mistake she made.

The mistake . . . . . . . . .

She misunderstood my feelings. She misunderstood herself, as well. Jealously took over her body, and now my heart was gone. She wished it would happen, but she wished we could still be together.

I long for the day Michiru-chan and I can be together once again . . . . . . . . .

I remember how it all started.

I walked down the street, heading for the arcade. I wished to play this new racing game that they had just installed into the arcade. Little did I know what I was to find.

I entered the arcade.

" Haruka-san!" Motoki-san said as he ran towards me. " I am glad to see you."

" What's wrong?" I asked.

"There is this girl I just found out back in the corner." he explained. "She is crying and everything, and I don't know who to bring her to. She refuses to do anything."

" Let me check her out." I said as I walked back into the alley. He was right. There was a girl, about my age, sitting in the corner, crying.

"Excuse me, miss." I said. " May I help you at all?"

She looked up at me. I could never forget that face. Her beautiful green eyes stared up at me with sadness. Her strawberry-blonde hair looked so brilliant in the sunlight.

"I-I'm lost, sir." she said uneasily.

Sir. Another girl who thought I was a man. Poor girl.

"Well, where do you live?" I asked.

"I'm not sure." she said. "I don't remember anything."

"Amnesia." Motoki-san said from behind.

"Let me take you home." I said. I lifted her up.

"You are most kind, sir." she said as she got up. We made our way to my apartment.

"You brought a GIRL here?" Michiru screamed.

I brought the girl to our apartment. Shocked filled in her eyes the moment we entered. She had brought me to the bedroom where she was screaming at me.

"She was lost."I explained. " The poor girl didn't have a clue about anything."

"I don't care!" she screamed. " I do NOT want her livig in MY apartment!"

" It's OUR apartment, meaning I can bring guests in here as well." I stated. " And I say she can stay!"

There was silence.

"You have feelings for her." she suddenly blurted out.

" No." I said. " I just want to help."

She got up, took a bag, and started stuffing clothes in it.

" Fine, the bitch can stay." she said as she ran out.

I was shocked. How could Michiru-chan be so cold-hearted? Was she scared that I would suddenly have feelings for this poor girl? That I would totally forget about her?

I entered the family room where the girl was sitting.

"Did I cause trouble?" she asked timidly. Her big green eyes stared at me with such beauty. " I'm sorry if I did, sir."

" First off, if you're going to live here, you should know something." I said. " I am a girl. My name is Ten'oh Haruka, and I am 20 years old."

" Oh, I feel so stupid, calling you sir . . ." she said as she blushed.

" It happens." I said.

"Thank you for your kindness, Ten'oh-kun." she said. " I am Hiyong Lin, and I am 17."

"Call me Haruka-chan, Lin-chan." I said as I smiled. She smiled back. I could feel my heart pound. "Would you like me to show you around Tokyo?"

"I would love it." she said. She stood up. " Thank you for being so kind to me, Haruka-chan." She took my arm, and we walked out the door.

" So, Lin-chan," I said as we walked around the park. " Tell me about yourself."

" Um.. . . " she began. " I like watching race car races, and I play the piano. I used to have a cat but it died 4 years ago. I've wanted a dog ever since. I never had a boyfriend." She smiled. " How about you?"

" Let's see," I said. " I am a race car driver, I play the piano, too. My girl is Michiru-chan-"

" You mean that cold-hearted woman who stuck up the middle finger at me as she left?" she asked.

" Yeah." I said as I laughed. " That's her."

" I don't see why she hated me so much." she said innocently. " I did nothing to harm her."

" That's Michiru-chan for you." I said uneasily. I looked down at her. She gazed admiringly at me. That look in her eyes was so precious........

" Shall we take another stroll around the garden?" I asked her.

" I would love to.' she said.

We happily walked around the garden again. I could feel her beautfiul eyes on me the whole time.

I offered Michiru-chan's bed back at the apartment.

" She usually doesn't sleep there, but in my bed," I told her. " So, you are welcomed to sleep there."

" OK," she said. I showed her in, and hse made herself comfortable.

Suddenly, the phone rang.

" Haruka-chan, it's Setsuna." Setsun-chan said on the other line. " I have a very upset Michiru-chan here, who is crying her guts out because she says you have another girl."

" I'm just helping Lin-chan!" I defended.

" Then why do you call her Lin-chan already?" she asked. I was silent. "I'm sorry, but I agree with Michiru-chan." She hung up.

I couldn't believe it. Setsuna-chan and Michiru-chan were both against me. Who was next? Hotaru-chan? The inner sneshi?

" I'm causing problems, aren't I?" Lin-chan said sadly as she peeked from the doorway.

" No, Lin-chan." I said. I hugged her. " YOu can stay as long as you want." She smiled.

My heart beat even faster.
