Serena ran down the deserted sidewalk. Snow was falling hard and covered everything in sight. Serena never noticed it though. Her blues eyes were sad and turned down towards the ground. Though from the outside it looked like she was just wondering around, she actually knew were she was going. It was the one place she knew he would always be. A place that meant everything to her. Possibly him too. She might never know now. He was taken from her. He was gone. He was right there in front of her and she never saw him until it was too late. Everything was all her fault. If she had been strong enough, fast enough, smart enough, brave enough; he would never have been took. Wiping away a tear Serena turned the corner. She made her way down the path of the frozen park. All covered in Gods pure creations. It wasn't fair. Why would God giver her, her life, then ripe it away with out a though.
Finding the bench she had shared with him she sat on it and looked out upon the desolate lake. All alone, like her. A wave of pain hit her and made her chock on her breath. Exhaling it hung in the air. Up in the sky the moon gazed down on her. She looked at it with hatred. Springing from the bench she ran to the middle of the lake.
"Why! Why have you done this to me! Why have you taken him away from me! I love him and you ripped him from my heart! Why?"
Serena collapsed onto the ice. Laying there face down, she cried her bitter sad tears. The tears freezing to the ice and trapping them there. Not long after she lay there she fell asleep. All those sleepless nights lying awake wondering if he was ever going to come back to her caught up. Her breath even and peaceful as she slept. Never knowing she was being watched. A man stepped from the shadows and stared at her for a few seconds. Making sure she was really asleep and not tricking him. Looking around he cautiously walks to her. Bending down he scoops her up into his arms. Turning his face to the sky he floats above the tree - tops. With a burst of light they disappear. Reappearing in Serena's bedroom.
Oh so gently he sets her on her bed. Removing her shoes and coat he pulls the bunny covered quilt over her body. He leans down next to her and gives her a whisper kiss. Slightly brushing his lips with hers. Closing his eyes he moves to get up. Her arms snake out and grab him. At first he fears he has waken her, but finds she is still sleeping.
"Don't leave me Darien. I don't know what I'd do if you never came back to me."
The words were no more above a whisper. Leaning into her embrace he murmurs into her ear.
"Never Serena. I will never leave you."
Shocked at his words he pulls back quickly. This Angel has bewitched him some how. Before he leaves he places a rose in full bloom on her pillow next to her head. Throwing caution to the wind, he leans down and gives her another whispered kiss. Closing his eyes he leaves by a shimmer of light. Serena sleeps on to morning.
The sun bursts through Serena's window and wakes her up. Sitting up in bed she stretches and looks at her Guardian Cat, Luna. Smiling she makes to get up but is stopped by the sight of the blood red rose. Picking up the rose she stares at it with wonderment. Slowly the events of last night unfold in her head. How did she get home? Wasn't she lying in the middle of the lake? Faintly she remembers hearing a voice in her ear.
"Never Serena. I will never leave you."
The voice echoes in her head and she gasps in shock. That's the voice of her Darien. He was alive! Jumping out of bed she runs to the shower the rose still in her hand. Everything was going to be all right now. Her Darien was OK. And he still loved her.
