Chapter One

Serena Tsukino leaned back in her chair and stretched her aching body.

"Arg! I hate sitting at a desk all day!"

Serena sighed, got up and, grabbing her briefcase, left her office. Before she left; however, she glanced at the calendar.

"December 30, 2023. Twenty-two years ago to the date." Serena sighed a sad sigh, and, lost in memories, left the building.

Walking along the sidewalk, heading toward her small but comfortable apartment, Serena was not watching where she was going. Instead of making a right turn in front of the park, she mindlessly walked straight into the park. Soon she was deep within.

"Smooth move Serena!" Serena said out loud. "Go and get yourself lost in the park in the middle of the night!" It was two o'clock in the morning, and it was quite dark out.

Serena turned around, and started heading back to the entrance, when a sudden noise behind her startled her.

Whirling around, Serena was greeting by an unexpected sight.

A creature, at least nine-feet tall, with black wings that were as wide as she was tall, hissed at her.

"What are you?" Serena said in a firm voice.

"Kuro." It hissed.

"What do you want?"

"Your energy."

"Why is it always energy with you things!" Serena said, throwing her hands up in frustration.

"Makura must live! Makura need energy to live!"

"And who is Makura?" Serena said, stalling for time, looking around for a good place to hide.

"No more questions! Energy! Makura need energy!"

Serena looked wildly about for something to throw at Kuro, and then she looked at the briefcase in her hand. Moments later, it was hurtling towards a confused Kuro.

Serena used the opportunity to run behind a large, ancient tree.

Serena reached into her pocket and pulled out her most treasured object.

"Please, please work!" She whispered.

"Moon Eternal Power!"

Familiar power washed through Serena, making every inch of her body tingle with the feeling of powers reawakening after a long rest.

Once the transformation was done, Eternal Sailor Moon prepared to step out from behind the tree, but then she stopped, as if remembering something. She quickly pushed a small button on her watch, which doubled as a communicator, which opened up the face of the watch. After pushing a small, almost microscopic crystal, she finally stepped out from behind the tree.

"I am Eternal Sailor Moon! How dare you shatter the peace of earth! In the name of the moon, I will destroy you!"

"Give me your energy!" Kuro said, seemingly unsurprised to see Eternal Sailor Moon standing in front of her.

"Never!"

Eternal Sailor Moon began preparing for her attack, when all of a sudden, Kuro put her hands together, and, looking almost like she was praying, sent blasts of dark energy ribbons from her hands.

Eternal Sailor Moon never had a chance. Within seconds, the black ribbons were hugging her with a death grip, slowly and painfully sucking on her energy.

"Let go of me!" Eternal Sailor Moon said between clenched teeth.

"Energy first." Kuro said simply, not looking up from her prayer.

"I wish I wasn't alone in this. I wish my friends were here to save me. They always used to be here for me, but now..." Eternal Sailor Moon thought. "No! I must rely on my own energy for once! I must get free!" Eternal Sailor Moon stopped struggling, and concentrated. Slowly, ever so surely, the ribbons began to unwind from around her.

"What you doing? You no can do that!"

"Whoever taught you how to talk did not do a very good job!" Said a mysterious voice from behind Eternal Sailor Moon.

"Who you?" Kuro said, with not a little agitation.

"I turn night into day, dark into light... I am Eternal Sailor Starlight!"

With a final burst of energy, Eternal Sailor Moon was finally free from her bonds.

"Hello, Eternal Sailor Moon." Eternal Sailor Starlight said, with her musical voice.

"Hello." Eternal Sailor Moon said simply, and then she pulled out her Eternal Tier and said, "Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss!"

The attack was visibly weakening Kuro, but it was not enough, and both Eternal Sailor Moon and Eternal Sailor Starlight could see that.

"Eternal Sailor Starlight, could you give me a little help here...?" Eternal Sailor Moon said through pain clenched teeth.

Without responding, Eternal Sailor Starlight went right into her attack. "Starlight Eternal Light!"

A bright white light joined the light of Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss, and Kuro was wiped into oblivion within seconds.

Eternal Sailor Moon turned around on shaky legs and observed the new Scout.

Eternal Sailor Starlight was beautiful, more beautiful than Eternal Sailor Moon thought anyone could possibly be. Her hair flowed down to her ankles and was pure natural white. Her tiara had a brilliant diamond embedded in it that sparkled and shimmered in the light of the starry sky. Her entire uniform was a stark white, except for the diamond locket in the middle of her bow. She was tall, even without the high heels that she wore, shoes that reminded Eternal Sailor Moon of Super Sailor Mars' heels.

"Who are you?" Eternal Sailor Moon said curiously.

"A friend." Eternal Sailor Starlight said, and with that, she was off and running, too fast for Eternal Sailor Moon to chase after her.

Eternal Sailor Moon let go of her transformation with a sigh, and, after retrieving her briefcase, heading for home.

"Here we go again!" She said with a half amused smile. "And this time I am way too old to do this!"
