Darien's Goodbye

By: Starlight949

A flashing, searing, burning pain.
Standing here in the rain.
Watching you as you rip out my heart.
Your face still looks like a work of art.
Skin so pale.
Eyes so dark.
Standing by you in the park.
I feel a tear course down my face.
As you speak you start to pace.
You list the reasons why.
Standing under the starry sky.
I watch you move, I see your face.
Muscles flowing with a soft, easy grace.
I watch your lips move, but hear no sound.
your heartrending words sink low to the ground.
No need for me to hear them, I know from where your feelings stem.
You said you loved me, but you dont.
You said you'd always be there, but I know you wont.
And then I hear those words I dread.
The words I wrought fly from my head.
Standing here on the soft springy grass all I want is to kick your ass.
And then you turn away from me, the hole in my heart wide as the sea.
I grab your wrist and spin you around.
The look in your eyes forces me down.
Lying here in the cool wet moss.
I feel the full weight of my loss.
You're gone for good, you've walked away.
I sit up and I start to sway.
I wrap my arms around my self.
Through my bitterness I still wish you good health.
I watch you leave, as I cry.
You never even said goodbye.
