Queen Serenity smiled down at her new and beautiful daughter. She put her down in the cradle and walks over to her husband, King Tranquility. She linked arms with him and turned to her subjects.
"My fellow subjects," she started. The whole crowd turned to her and got quiet. "I am proud to announce that you now have a princess, Princess Serenity. To separate our names, she will be called Serena. When she gets older and I turn the throne over to her, she will return to the name Serenity. When she turns 7 years of age, the inner planet princesses, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus, will act as protectors of the Moon Princess, the Sailor Scouts, as I did. Enough of my chit chat, this is a Celebration! Go back to your celebrating!" Serenity smiled as she finished.
King Tranquility kissed his wife on the cheek. "Great speech."
Queen Serenity smiled at the blonde-haired man. "Thank you, pumpkin."
The queen and the king walk over to the cradle and watch their precious baby. Serenity looked up at the crowd, their smiles warming her heart.
All of a sudden, the light dimmed and a cold ran through the room. Queen Serenity stood protectively next to her baby, while Tranquility stood in front of both of them.
The room grew silent, and a black cloud formed over head. A figure soon began to take shape. It was a woman, with cold red eyes and very pale skin. Her hair was long and dead black. A long dark purple gown hugged her body like a second skin, but flared out from the knees on. Her blood red lips curled into a mocking smile. "Oh, isn't this nice. A celebration for the little princess. Oh, one question. Why wasn't I invited?"
The Queen glared at this lady. "You know why, Metallica. You know you're not allowed on the Moon. You belong on your planet. You chose it."
Her smile disappears slightly. "Oh, my dear, dear Queen. Why do you speak to me in that evil tone of voice? We were friends, remember?"
"We were friends, but you tried to attack my kingdom. I band you from here. Now go!"
Metallica frowned. "I will go, but before I do, I will do one thing to your precious princess. Here's my gift to her!" Metallic sends a beam of dark energy at the princess.
Bam! The beam hits. All you hear is a scream and the King, laying on the ground in front of the cradle. The princess is crying hysterically, along with the Queen. Serenity stoops down next to her dead husband and hugs him, as if she's holding onto dear life.
Metallica smiled. "Well, instead of killing the princess, I killed the king! That's good enough for me!" She turns around, about to leave, but gets a different idea. She flies above the wailing princess. "Your majesty," she started, mockingly. "I have a gift for you. On your 17th birthday, you must experience true love's first kiss." As she said this, a dark cloud formed in her hand. "If you don't, or experience it before your 17th birthday, you will be led out into the rose garden. You will prick your finger on the thorn of a black rose..."
Only now did the Queen realize what was happening. "No! Don't!"
"...And die!" The cloud formed into a bigger one. Metallica smiled and shot it at the princess. It engulfed her and you could no longer hear her crying.
Queen Serenity jumped up, just as the princess reappeared again, crying and wailing harder and louder. She picked the little one up and held her close, tears streaming down her face.
Metallica laughed evilly, happy for what she had done.
Queen Rachel of Mars came up and took the baby from the Serenity, knowing what she was about to do.
Queen Serenity took out her moon scepter and mounted the crystal. Queen Metallica seemed amused by what she was doing, thinking nothing of it. Queen Serenity held the scepter up toward the sky. "Moon Crystal Power!" A white light shone from the crystal and filled the room.
Queen Metallica screamed. "What is this energy?!" She screamed again, and then exploded. Her spirit still remained a black cloud, and you could still see her red eyes glaring. She made and an awful sound, like a scream, and passed through Queen Serenity's body.
Serenity let out a yell and fell to the ground, weak. Rachel rushed next to her, holding the baby. She stooped down next to the Queen. Serenity took her baby and held her tight as Rachel supported her. "I will take you somewhere where she can't find you, and you'll be safe," she whispered. "I promise."
Two days later, the queen stood in front of the "Planet Portal." Her two advisers, Luna and Artimis (Luna a black cat and Artimis and white cat), stood behind her.
"Are you sure about this, my Queen? You know what dangers there are on Earth," Luna stated worriedly.
The queen turned around and looked down at the worried faces of the two cats. "Yes, I am positive. I'm afraid that Earth is the only place safe enough for little Serena." Serenity looked down at the baby in her arms, wrapped up in a pink blanket.
The two cats nodded. "Have a safe trip," Artimis wished.
Serenity nodded and turned to the portal. She stepped inside and pressed the "Earth" button. In a second, she disappeared and reappeared on Earth.
Serenity looked around, not knowing when to leave her. She remembered hearing about how nice the Queen of Earth was, so she decided to leave her somewhere near the palace.
She walked around eventually ended up in the garden of the palace. She heard voices and hid behind a bush. The people got closer and she could make out the figures of a small boy and an older woman, maybe a little older than Serenity.
The woman was speaking. "Endymion, you know"
The younger boy cut in. "Mama, call me Darien. All my friends do."
The woman sighed. "All right, Darien." Darien smiled at the name and the woman continued on. "You know you're not suppose to come out here alone at night. It's dangerous!"
"But Mama, I saw-"
"I don't care what you saw. If your father finds out, he'll be furious! Now, let's go back to bed before your father comes out."
Serenity realized that the small boy was the prince, only about 3 years old. She came to conclusion that the older woman must have been the Queen.
Serenity sighed, wondering where to leave her darling child. She looked down and then remembered something. Her forehead! It had to crescent moon on it still! She had to cover it up somehow. She touched little Serena's forehead and it disappeared. It would only reappear on her 18th birthday, when she would be safe. Or whenever Serenity decides for it to come back.
Serenity stood up and walked into the back of the palace, the servants' quarters. She put up the hood of her cloak over her long, silver hair, and opened the door. A girl about 20 years old with long, wavy, brown hair looked up. "Who's there?" she asked, a bit scared. She got up from her chair and tried to see who the person under the hood.
Serenity cleared her throat. "I am not here to harm you. I'm here to ask you a favor."
The woman nodded. "Yes?"
Serenity walked up to her. "I want you to take care of my baby. Her name is Serena." She handed the baby to the woman.
She nodded. "But, who are you? And why don't you take care of her yourself?"
Serenity looked away. "I'm trying to save her." She turned at started to leave. When she was at the door, she turned around to face the woman. "Don't speak of our meeting to anyone. If anyone asks, say you found her."
With that, she left the castle and transported back to the moon, leaving her only child on Earth with a woman she didn't even know.
