Then he heard it. Someone crying. He walked over to one of the machines, the direction the sound seemed to come from, but he couldn’t find anyone. ‘Could he not be seeing them because he’s not used to the bot optic? It did have a much lower resolution, Skullcruncher's type didn’t need to see what their hands were doing, or read, all they needed to do with their optics was see which direction their guns were pointed.’
Suddenly it hit him, the machine was crying. "What? How can this be?"
"It’s Shockwave’s fault." the machine replied.
"What? How? Why?"
"Well, these machines were from the Quintesson tank assembly lines. We used their parts to configure new bodies for ourselves a few hundred years ago. Shockwave changed us back."
"But why would he do that?"
"He needed an army, and we weren't warriors. He used us to build an army of guardian Robot drones. There are thirty, over twice as many as Iacon has. They set out a few minutes ago."
"What can I do?"
"Give up, and kill us please. I can’t live with the knowledge of what I was forced to do."
"Give up? LOOK at what they did to you! You’re just going to let them get away with it?"
"But what can we do?"
"You are builders right? Build. I need repairs. I need weapons. I want to be a force to reckon with. Let me Fight for thee city of gold. The place we tried to make Duraplex into. Don’t let the light of Cybertron die."
"Well, we’ll do what we can, and we’ll wish you luck."
"And I’ll see you get back to your old selves, I don’t know how, but you’ll get back to normal, I promise."
Another two hours and Irrellius was on the road. He was traveling at over five hundred miles per hour now, because now he could. He had to. His new engine was at its limit, he just prayed it’d hold until he made it.
By the time Irrellius made it to Iacon, all the red and tan Autobot Guardian Robots were gone, and six blue mercenary guardians were ripping apart the upper levels of the capital building. The city shield was down, and fires were all over.
Rage swelled up, the destruction appalled Irrellius, transforming in mid-leap, and Irrellius lit his new rocket pack, and punched through the back of the nearest Guardian. The guardian fell, and the other five turned to focus on him.
His shoulder guns deployed, falling to both sides of his head, a targeting display dropping from his helmet over his eye. the guns fired, accompanied by his shoulder rocket launchers, mounted on his outer arms. The rockets ripped through two more of the guardian drones.
Then he jumped on another, and his oversized hydraulic arms, now four gauges bigger than before, began a pile driver motion into the third. The last two Guardians fired, and Irrellius barely dodged the blasts. The blasts continued, leaving entire buildings vaporized in their wakes. Irrellius used the body of the destroyed Guardian as a shield while it lasted. Then he jumped from window to window, using the buildings as a shield. The problem: These Guardians had clearly superior targeting systems, but the one advantage Irrellius had is a mind. He circled around the two Guardians, barely clearing a building before it became flaming ash, and circled to a certain point, and stopped. It was a gamble. The nearest guardian’s hand blasters glowed red, and Irrellius crossed his fingers. Then the gamble paid off. The guardian glowed red at the seams, and the Guardian began smoking. The body fell, revealing a huge gaping hole from the other Guardian, as it attempted to shoot through its partner to get a target. The Guardian’s guns glowed again, in preparation for another volley. Irrellius smiled. Irrellius swung his arm back, and forward in a full uppercut. He hit the arm of the downed hollow guardian, it’s arm swung up. Another hit and the fully charged blast went off, in the robot’s face. The last guardian fell to the ground, it’s head gone.
The guardians were down, but Shockwave, Mindwipe, and probably a few others were still in town, so it wasn’t over. Irrellius flew around, very unsteadily, this was totally new to him. ‘I can’t even fly sober, What’ll I do when I get a drink in me?’
As he flew around the capital building, he saw Shockwave below with four or five others, and a new idea hit him. In mid-air he transformed into 18-wheeler mode, and simply let Gravity take control. ‘After all, it IS what I’m good at.’ He aimed himself directly for Shockwave, but aiming was new to him. He did however, manage to obliterate Mindwipe. The bot was flattened, small chunks flying into neighboring structures, but the majority was at the bottom of Irrellius’ crater.
The dust settled, and Irrellius rose from the crater. He drew his arm back, about to punch the head off of a large monkey. Suddenly, a wave of pain, and he couldn’t swing his arm forward. A giant dinosaur had clamped his jaws down on his wrist. ‘He will NOT get the best of me.’ Irrellius swung his arm, leaving his forearm where it was. His arm swung forward, knocking the monkey into a nearby building.
He kicked backwards, sending the dinosaur sliding, leaving a furrow in the street. He ran up to the dinosaur, a gleam in his eye, "Your warranty has just expired." with that, he stomped down on the dinosaur’s leg, breaking it off. He then punched it in its jaw, taking its teeth out, and leaving it unconscious.
Suddenly, something grabbed Irrellius’ arms from behind, and put him in a full Nelson. It was that damn monkey again. He couldn’t move, and another bot came up, and began punching his mid-area. ‘Well he’s in for a surprise.’ Irrellius’ shoulder guns swung back down, and blasted the bot. It must’ve flew through three or four buildings. What surprised Irrellius was that the bot came back. A metal dog jumped through the hole, and came up to Irrellius, snarling. ‘You think he’d learn.’ Another volley silenced the bot wolf.
The hands on the arms holding his reached up, and ripped the guns off. The pain was excruciating. Irrellius’ eye burned brighter red, and his jetpack lit up. The ape-bot’s legs were vaporized, but it held tight. Irrellius rose into the air, and crashed through the top of the building that he had blasted the wolf-bot through. Still, the bot held tight. ‘Number two!’ after plowing through another building, the bot’s grip loosened. ‘Buy two get one free!’ After a third and final building, the bot slipped, but his grip reasserted itself, around his leg. Irrellius kicked the bot in the face, and the bot fell, taking Irrellius’ leg with him.
