Brief History:
Alan Scott was Earth's original Green Lantern. In 1941, he gained his power from a strange meteorite. He forged a lantern and a ring which gave him the power to create anything he could imagine with it. His only weakness was anything made of wood. He eventually helped the Justice Society of America (JSA) along with Jay Garrick (The Flash). He continued to defend the innocent untill he plain out got too old. While as GL, he fathered two children without his knowledge. When he discovered them, they were heroes in their own right (Jade and Obsidian). Anyways, he would retire for about 20 some years when one morning he woke up and found himself a young man once again. He later discovered that the power of his ring and lantern had deaged him. So he got his ring, changed his name to "Sentinel" because Earth had Hal Jordan as Green Lantern. He would eventually fight what turned out to be the ultimate source of his power, the Starheart. He also joined the Justice Leauge for a short time. As time continued to pass, he never aged as his old friends continued to do so. When Parallax (Hal Jordan) tried to restart time, Alan fought him. His power ring was destroyed in the process. That's when he discovered that the power was completely in his body. He eventually met Kyle Rayner (Hal Jordan's successor and only Green Lantern) to help find Jenny (Alan's daughter a.k.a. "Jade"). He discovered that the Starheart, the beast he destroyed earlier, had evolved into a higher being and kidnapped her. Starheart wanted to kill Kyle Rayner to enact revenge on the Guardians of the Universe and take back Alan's power. Starheart was ultimately defeated when Jade use every ounce of her power to destroy him, save Kyle, her father and brother, and return them home. Alan has recently, because of the loss of the bulk of his infinite power, he became a man of his 50's even though he is in his 80's. He has donned his original GL costume, but retains his "Sentinel" name. He also helped reinstitute the JSA.
