Yellowstone National Park is found primarily in northwest Wyoming, but small portions are also found in the states of Idaho and Montana. Yellowstone became a national park on March 1, 1872, and is the first and oldest national park in the world. All but one percent of Yellowstone's more then two million acres remains untouched by human activities.
