Definition/ Purpose:  The Spanish Club is a select group of students who's main purpose is to promote the Spanish language in the school and surrounding areas

Objectives:

• To promote the learning of hte Spanish language by crating and promonting activities tha twill enhance the larning process of it's members

• Participating in a variety of hispanic holiday celebrations such as Dia de la Raza, International Week, Cinco de Mayo, Dia de la Independencia, Desfile de Navidad, Canciones, Dramatizaciones, Etc.
• Doing fund raising proects to buy materials for the classroom and to run the club's activities.
• Planning field trips to concerts, Spanish Dramas, operas, and other cultural activities at college fairs.
• Offering tutorial services to other students
• Planning skids and/or dramatizations for the class, etc.
• Inviting speakers to the class room

• Active membership is available for a minimal anual fee of three dollars to all students taking Spanish classes.  Honorary membership is offered to those students who have completed thier second level Spanish and could be accepted byt he board.  Membership last the entire school year and can be renewd after paing the minimal annual fee.

• An asigned Spanish teacher will act as the sponser of hte club.  THis person will act as the liason between the school and the students.  His/her responisbility is to be with the students during tmeetings, be a consultant advisor, censor, or coach for the group.

•   The club will be led by a group of five members elected by the club members in democratic elctions: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and     Reporter.

• President--Call to meetings preside, sign documents for the club, represent the whole club.  He/she will work closely with the sponsor for consultation
• Vice-President--Acts as president whe he/she is not present.  Also will be in charge of other activities.
• Secretary-- He/she will keep the minutes and inform the officer of meetings
• Treasurer-- Will collect monies and turn them into the school office administration.  Keep the members informed of the flow of money in and out of the account.  Do bookkeeping tasks.
• Reporter--He/she makes sure to inform the membership of what is going on with the club activities.  Also write for the media , and promote the Club's activities.

• Club officers will meet as often as necessary but the whole group may meet once a month towards the third thursday of the moht, with the pre-approveal of hte Principal's office.  Every time the club it meets should follow parliamentary procedures.
