GEORGE SANDY SALYERS


George Sandy Salyers was born in Eastern Kentucky in 1930. In the 1960s he was a disc jockey, singer and publisher and worked for WION Radio. In 1965 he started his own recording company called BMI Publishers. During the 1970s, the Salyers came to Nashville, Michigan, and built "Sandyland Park". Here shows starred top country music artists.

In 1983 the Salyers started "Norway Recording Studios". One of his hits, "Ruby Faye" was played on many radio stations. That is also his wife's name. They live with their daughter, Angie, in Nashville, Michigan.

Sandy Salyers was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame on September 9, 1995 in Saginaw, Michigan in ceremonies held at the Saginaw County Fair Grounds.
