PAT LEVELY


Pat Levely was born in Flint, Michigan. Her parents were Arthur and Bobbe Pirtle. Pat is married to Norm Levely, and they have two daughters. In 1964, Pat cut two Nashville records with two of Jack Ripley's songs. In 1966 she formed a band which led to meeting Buck Owens who contracted with her for an exclusive writer's contract. Susan Ray recorded Pat's song, "I've Got a Happy Heart" which made it to number 3 song in the nation. In the 1970s, Pat and Norm started a recording studio and record shop. Also in the 1970s, Pat formed a 5 piece group called "Country Sunshine". In 1986 song writing became a serious endeavor, and Pat is active in the Mid-Michigan Songwriter's Workshop.

Pat Levely was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame on September 9, 1995 at the Saginaw County Fairgrounds in Saginaw, Michigan.
