Bio-History: Since birth, Toad has been cursed with a grotesque physical appearance. As he matured, the other children considered him a freak and tormented the youngster mercilessly. When he reached puberty, Toad's mutant abilities manifested. During this time, Magneto recruited the youngster to join his cause. The Master of Magnetism recognized that Toad shared his belief that humans should serve mutants.
Toad traveled to the Savage Land, a forgotten jungle, and found the mutant refuge Magneto and Charles Xavier had created. As time passed, the elder mutants' conflicting beliefs became a point of contention. The tension grew, leading Magneto to expel Xavier -- violently -- from their haven.
