It is understood that this puppy is not considered to be of breeding or show quality and will be sold on a limited registration. This puppy is to be spayed or neutered
at the appropriate age according to your vet, although current research suggests that puppies should not be neutered until they have reached full growth, approx 18 months of age. If this dog is used for breeding, any offspring he/she produces will be ineligible for AKC registration. This puppy will be eligible to participate in AKC obedience, tracking, agility and herding events.
Although this puppy's parents have been screened for certain genetic diseases (hip dysplasia, eye anomalies, von Willebrand's disease), recessive disorders are still a possibility. If your puppy developes an inheritable, disabling (definition of disabling to include effectively shortening the dog's expected life span and/or affecting the dog's quality of life and ability to function as a companion animal) disease or defect (to be determined by two independant veterinarians, one of my own choosing and at my own expense) I will either refund the purchase price of the puppy or replace the puppy if a replacement is available.
You agree to provide a safe and loving home for this puppy. He/she is not to be allowed to roam the neighborhood unsupervised. You also agree to provide appropriate veterinary care including, but not limited to, vaccines and heartworm preventative. You agree to provide a good quality food and fresh water. If at any time you feel this dog no longer fits in with your family and life style, please return him/her to me for placement. Under no circumstances is he to be surrendered to an animal control facility, experimental laboratory or to persons that acquire dogs for that purpose.
I am always happy to see my puppies return for grooming or boarding.
