Meet my lamb....my sister Jamie raises suffolk sheep and she was kind enough to let me use one of her lambs this year. I was going to raise a market goat, but he just wouldn't gain weight so we sold him and I switched to market lamb. He weighed in at 115lbs on weigh in day...whew! The lambs must be at least 100 lbs to be sold at the auction. The weight we all shoot for is 120 lbs. That is the size of lamb that the market wants.
My lamb was a very wild lamb. I had to show him with his halter on so I wouldn't lose him in the showring! He was acting up so bad that day that the judge said he didn't know if the lamb and i had even known each other before then! (That was embarrassing)
After the showmanship class where i got 5th place, the lambs were all brought back to the ring for market class. My lamb placed 8th (i think). There was alot of lambs this year so that was still good. On thursday we had the auction and Filer Credit Union bought my lamb for $9.75 a pound!

I chose 2 ducks that weighed exactly 7 lbs. each for my pair of market ducks. I used one of them for my showmanship class and i won a trophy! In the market class my ducks placed 3rd. At the auction Dr. Veach bought them for $16.00 a pound !
