"Honey, we need to talk," my mom said.
"Yes?" I asked puzzeled.
"Sweet heart, how did you get that black eye?"
"Ummm, I ran into a door."
"That's not what I heard."
"ZAC!" I thought.
"What did you hear?" I asked.
"Honey, has Eric been hitting you?"
"NO! Why did you think that?"
"No reason."
"Ok. See ya," I said walking out the door. I went strat to Zac's house. Zac opened the door. "HOW COULD YOU?!" I yelled.
"What did I do exactly?"
"You told my parents!"
"Sarah, it needed to be done."
"Now I'll never get to see him again!"
"GOOD!" Now as this little conversation was going on my mom was by the window listening. "She is not seeing him again!" she thought.
"How could you you?" this time I started to cry.
"It's ok," he said putting his arm over me. He lead me slowly down the worn path to the little opening. As soon as we sat down on the little rock it started to rain. Zac took off his jacket and put it over us as we headed for a little run down barn. With me still crying we sat down on the hay at the top of the loft. "Are you ok?" Zac finally asked.
"I don't know what came over me," I replied sniffilling.
Zac lifted my head and looked into my eyes, "Do you really want to be with him?" I pulled my head out of his hands and looked down, "Yes,"
"Look into my eyes and say that."
I looked up at him, "I do. With all my heart."
He turned away to try and hide the tears he was holding back. "Well I better go," I said. Zac held out his jacket to me. "Are you sure?" Zac shoock his head yes for he did not dare to speak. He was afraid his voice would give away the tears. I took the coat and held it over my head and ventured out into the cold rain.
***********************************Next Day************************************
My mom hung up the phone and called me down stairs. "Yeah?" I asked. "Have you seen Zac lately?"
"Ummm No, why?"
"Well, I'm not sure exactly what happened but Diana said that Zac left to go somewhere yesterday and didn't come home last night."
"He didn't?!" I asked a little afraid, ok a lot afraid.
"No, I asked because I thought you might have seen him yesterday but I guess not."
"Ok, ummm can I go to the park?" I asked crossing my fingers behind my back.
"Sure," she answered.
I ran down the worn down path to the little clearing. When I was just about there I stoped when in the distance I heard faint voice singing. I started to run again, even faster. When I was almost there I stopped a called out Zac's name. The voice suddenly stop and I kept running, faster and faster. I came to the clearing but no one was there though the singing was louder.
