Rockhoundz Skid Plates

Why did i get aluminum skidplates? Aren't the stock plastic ones adequate for everything you could possible do with your truck? Well, not really... Soon after I started taking the t-maxx of jumps and stuff, the screw holes on the stock plastic skidplate broke. This left the bulkheads to flop around wherever they wanted; not good for the handling of the truck.

The Skids

I'd say that Rockhoundz are the coolest skidplates out there right now. Not only are they the coolest, but they are also the cheapest aluminum skids I have seen, at only about 32 bucks for both from and rear. These skids are extremely thick, prob at least twice as thick as other brands, but they are still pretty light considering the strength that you get with aluminum skidplates. They have a nice brushed finish, and the edges are rounded so they aren't so sharp.

Installation

Pretty straight forward. It was fast and easy since all you have to do is take off the screws that hold (or did hold) the stock skid in place, and swap it with the aluminum ones. The skids come with instructions, but if you really need to look at them to help you take out the screws and put them back in, (1)There must be something wrong with you, and (2)The instructions won't help you much anyways since the picture is too dark to see what it is trying to show you. Anyways, the Rockhoundz fit perfectly over where the old skids were. Also, they come with a bag of hardware that looks like replacement screws for the skids and hex screws for the steering posts, but you can just use the ones that held your old skid in place cause there's nothing wrong with them.

First Day

Well there isn't too much to say.. The rockhoundz looked great on the truck and now that my bulkheads were secure, I could actually go in a straight line. I haven't bashed them yet cause they look so good right now, and I have been trying to tune the engine on the street, but I will post as soon as i take it off-road again.

Other Stuff

I would definitely recommend these skids as a first upgrade for any t-maxx owner, cause they're strong, they look awesome, and they don't cost alot, not like some of those other rip-off upgrade manufacturers.. Good job Rockhoundz
