i got to my stand at about 6:30am. around 7:00 i could hear deer moving in the swamp. i heard a buck grunt and i heard a deer blow. around 7:30 i saw a buck coming toward me from the right or east. i reached ever so slowly for my bow and watched him come closer and closer . his path would lead him right in front of my stand where he stopped to sniff my foot prints. he turned and took one step toward my stand and looked at my stand. he darted only a step or two and stopped .he started to walk past and away from me so i slowly stood up.i was already at a full draw. he proceeded to move away giving me no shot, but slowly turning as he went . he finally positioned himself where i could get a shot, about 15 yds. i had a hard time getting focussed on him, but finally i got to where i thought i had a good aim and i let it go . i saw the arrow hit . i thought a little low, but maybe a heart shot . i watched him run west down the trail . he started up the hill a few steps and then back down . i thought i saw him fall . i decided to wait 1 hour before i trailed him . i waited 15 minutes and took up the trail telling myself that i would just go to where i last saw him and if i found nothing i would wait an hour . i went to where he was standing when i shot him , no arrow he must have took it with him . i found some blood , good enough to follow so i trailed him to where i last saw him and i found about 2/3 of my arrow ( i only have one left ) and i could tell by the scruffed up ground that he had fallen and broke off my arrow. i still had a blood trail so i followed looking all around as i went very soon i saw him laying not far from me . a five pointer yearling . i found the tip of my arrow stuck right in his heart. getting that deer up that big hill was exausting , i'm going to have to quit hunting at the bottom of that hill someday .
i won't go hunting this afternoon . i have to work .

wind north about 9 mph., temp. 39 degrees f., clear
got to my stand about 3 pm stayed till dark. about half an hour before dark , i heard some deer coming from behind . four deer two does and two fawns. they wandered around just out of range till dark . didn't get a shot and didn't see any bucks.

i saw a deer run across the bean field at about 2:30pm as i was walking to my stand. i got to my stand about 3:30pm, stayed till dark. i saw a big doe about 5:10pm east of me towards culberts about 40 yds. , but she winded me and did not come in. when i first got there i saw four turkeys behind me at the bottom of the hill.

i got to my stand at 3:00 pm stayed till dark. i didn't see any deer.

i went to the stand in the swamp. i got there about4:05 pm stayed till dark. at about 5:00 pm, i saw 4 or 5 deer , does & fawns, 1 buck .i couldn't get a shot. i watched the buck licking a branch and jumping up and rubbing his head on it.

i went to our lot to hunt this morning, to open gun season. i saw three deer jump the fence about 100 yds. down culberts line. don't know where they went didn't come my way. larry got a 6 pointer from my stand in the woods. Gerald saw one run into the swamp but didn't get a shot. we won't go hunting this afternoon.

got to my stand in the woods about 6:40 stayed till larry came and got me about 8:45. didn't see any deer , I heard shooting all around me though so some-body did. larry got a nice , big eight pointer . he shot about eighty yds. right through the heart. this deer has an open wound on his back that was made by a broadhead. It was healing nicely. larry was hunting from the 20 footer by the gravel pit. I won't go hunting this afternoon.

went to larrys 20 footer . i saw two deer disappear way over in the corner of the big hill by culberts. about a minute later i heard 4 shots. then i saw a young doe & a fawn right by me. i let them pass. i thought maybe i'd see a buck . no such luck . stayed till 9:00 am.

I went to my stand in the woods . i passed up a small fawn right in front of my stand. a minute later someone shot about 50 yds. away. it was walt l. he didn't know i was there. we have to get this straightened out before someone gets hurt.

i went to the 20 footer , got there about 7:00 am. i didn't see any deer . i got down at 8:30 and walked west around the hill to my stand in the woods. i got in that stand for about half an hour . i didn't see any deer. i came home.

went to my stand in the woods. i didn't see any deer . i could hear the turkeys gobbling in the swampy woods behind me. larry went to his twenty footer . he didn't see any deer . we came in at 8:30 am.

i went to my stand in the woods . i got there early, about 2:30 pm . around 4:15 when larry came out to his twenty footer , he ran a doe & a fawn out towards me , but they came in running so fast that i couldn't get a shot at them . they came through and were gone in about three seconds. then at last light , i saw a few deer wandering through , but i just couldn't get a clear shot at them and then it was dark .

i went to my stand in the woods. i didn't see any deer . i saw about 10 - 15 turkeys fly in out of the swamp and land in the woods on the hillside . one of them was white or had white wings .
