Greetings! Here's the scoop on me:
Name: Jobetta (aka Jo, Shorty, Hey you, etc.) I'm a music major at the University of Oregon. I have a school webpage you can look at if you'd like.
I love every kind of music. Music is life.--anything from Pearl Jam to oldies. There is something very special about music, especially when the people who make it truly love what they are doing.
I'm currently singing in the U of O gospel ensemble, which is awesome. It's a blast and the diretor is increibly talented.
My favorite musical group is an A Cappella group from Seattle called the 'Coats (formerly the Trenchcoats). These guys ROCK. I've seen them live about 10 times, and they're incredibly talented. You can really tell they have a passion for their music that shines through when they perform. They are absoloutely phenomenal. They have a first tenor named Keith Anderson who is one of the best singers I have ever heard. He is one of those people who you can watch sing and know they are putting everything into it (this is true with all the 'Coats, but he is incredible). I get chills every time I hear him sing. I could rant and rave forever....just, if you have a chance, and want to hear some really good music, go see them. I have also met the group on several occasions, and I can tell you these are four of the kindest, sweetest guys I have ever met. They are always so happy to see their fans and are truly appriciative of any compliments. Everytime I see them I fall in love all over again. I highly recommend their Christmas CD. (A while ago, in a post on their website, the Coats recommended a group called Trademark . I haven't seen them live, but judging from the MP3 files on their website, they're pretty darn good.

And finally....check out the website for Rockapella You remember them...they used to be on 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego"? Well, they're great, and the A Capella fanatics like myself should really like them.
And yet another music plug..the new Savage Garden CD, Affirmation, is AWESOME. If you're a fan of theirs, check it out. The songs on this CD are beautiful.
I also love basketball, animals, theatre, Shakespeare, John Grisham books, the ocean, roller coasters, Pez, thunderstorms, San Fransisco, Disneyland , Robin Williams, poetry, and horror movies. (The Shining is by far the greatest horror movie ever made, followed by Psycho.) I believe in Aliens. I love the "X-Files" and "ER" and I think that "Who's Line is it Anyway?" is the BEST show on TV.
I read Calvin and Hobbes religiously. I used to know a guy who could quote every Calvin and Hobbes Cartoon ever written word for word. I can't do that, but I think they're wonderful. My favorite cartoon is when Calvin's dinner starts to quote Hamlet) 
You learn some interesting things in college....very interesting. One thing I've learned is that no matter what, I will never get to sleep before midnight. I'm lucky if I go to sleep by 2 some nights. BUT, I have learned that when it is night here, it is daytime in Africa, where they have cameras in game parks. It's really neat....you can sometimes see animals or look at their database of animal pictures. The africam
Some things that really really really make me mad are: racism/sexism/homophobia--any time people judge each other based on petty insignificant differences. I really can't stand it when people pretend to be something they're not. I also don't like noisy eaters, people who forget to flush, when people STOP in the middle of a crowded hallway, people who come up behind me and pull on my clothes, backpack,etc., people who stop at green lights, and pay phones costing 35 cents (who carries around a quarter AND a dime?)
