As you can already see, Immature has come a VERY long way. Doing their first appearance On Our Worst Behavior in 1993, Immature consisted of Marques "Batman" Houston, Jerome "Romeo" Jones, and Fernando "Half-Pint" Santos. With their outrageous gear and ear-slamming lyrics, Immature truely lived up to their name. These three youngsters had a goal to take over the music industry. They performed on many TV shows such as Show Time At The Apollo and The Arsinio Hall Show doing their Vigin Records single, "Da Munchies". The group also ventured a little in the acting industry. Who could forget their self-titled roll in House Party III and thier guest appearance on A Different World. The young trio had plans on making it to the top.
Though their sound and style were very eye-catching, the group and their manager, Chris Stokes, felt the album was too kid-driven. Releasing their 1994 MCA sophomore album, Playtime Is Over, Immature's back-up band drummer, Kelton "LDB" Kesse, moved up and took the place of Half-Pint. With their new sound, label, and member, Immature took the music audience by surprise. Their first single, Never Lie, blew up music charts everywhere. Female fans from all over fell in love with the young talented trio. In the same year the group managed to record Feel The Funk for the Dangerous Minds soundtrack. Yet still keeping a door open to the acting industry, Marques Houston gained a staring roll in the hit TV show Sister Sister playing the cute yet highly annoying "Roger Evans".
In 1996, Immature released a third album, We Got It, catching a brauder audience across the nation. Females of all ages wanted to be a part of the Immature frinzy. With their new looks and deeper voices, these three showed that they were far from their name--"Immature".
In 1998, these three young men have blown us out with another album-The Journey. The trio have had to face many problems in their lives, such as the death of Marques' mother, Mrs. Carolyn Houston. The Journey features a song writen in memory of Mrs. Houston by her son Marques titled All Alone. This heart-taking song gives only a sample of the heartache and grief Marques and his family contain. Though the absence of his mother is something that is hard to deal with, Marques and his friends, Jerome & Kelton, stick together to make the head-bopping music and show-stopping concerts that they are known for.
And when we thought it was all over, Immature (now know as IMx) has risen from the dead and is turning heads now more than eva with their latest look, name, and those sexy bodies. From bennie-boppers to men, these three brothas have a totally new look and style from what the fans are used to. And you can truely see and hear the difference in their first single, Stay the Night, which is being aired on BET.
