Run CrAsh and choose "Little Dude 2" to play the game.

Little Dude 2 (LD2) is the sequel to 1997 Ash Game of
the Year (according to TI-Philes) Little Dude.

Originally, I had been planning to release three
episodes of the original Little Dude. After working on LD2
for a while, I realized LD1 sucks in comparison. The other
episodes of LD1 have been scrapped. Here's the story that
would have been told in the other episodes:

After killing the aliens on Space Station Liberty (the
first game), Little Dude escaped to a nearby planet. He
killed more aliens there, and eventually found a giant hive.
He slaughtered his way to the center of the hive, where he
found a strange machine and a spaceship, which appeared to
have come from earth. He took the spaceship, and flew back to
earth, where he traced it and the machine's origins to a top
secret genetic engineering facilty. In Little Dude 2, he's
about to infiltrate the facility, bent on getting revenge and
answers.

Map objects-
Most of the objects from LD1 return in LD2. The keys
have become keycards. The buttons are the same. The lava
looks the same, but is much deadlier. The conveyor belts act
the same, but have been better animated. Many many more
objects have been added, but I'll let you discover them in the
game. There are CDs and computers that use them to give you
help along the way.

**************************************************************
Controls-
Arrows: move LD
ALPHA (with arrows): strafe (move without changing direction)
MODE: pause menu
2nd: shoot (or push certain blocks)
MATH: select next weapon
Y=: select pistol
WINDOW: select shotgun
ZOOM: select freeze ray
TRACE: select rocket launcher
GRAPH: select grenades

To use any weapons besides the pistol, you must find ammo for
them. When you pick up ammo, you automatically switch to that
weapon.

**************************************************************
On-screen-
The left side of the screen, obviously, is the playing
area. On the right is LD's status bar. The first thing at
the top is the current weapon that is selected, with the
amount of ammo next to it if needed. Below that is LD's
health, out of 100. When it gets to 0, he's dead and loses
his progress in the level. Below that is the number of lives
Little Dude has. You can find more of these throughout the
game. When Little Dude runs out of lives, the game is over.
Below the lives is a space for LD's inventory to appear. If
he finds a CD or keycards, they will appear here. At the
bottom of the status bar, a timer will sometimes appear. When
it gets to 0, it disappears. You'll have to figure out what
the importance of it is.

**************************************************************
Saving and loading-
To save a level in LD2, you must find special save
spots. The first of these is in Level 2. The game cannot be
saved any other way.
When you load a saved game, LD starts at the beginning
of the level he last saved in, with the number of lives he had
when he saved.

Hints and tips-
Think "outside of the box" if you get stuck on any
puzzles. Every one has a solution.
Use Strafe! It's helpful, and sometimes even
necessary to kill your enemies!
Be careful with explosives. They hurt you too.
Hold down the shoot button (usually) when attacking an
enemy. It's faster that way.
On the other hand, don't waste ammo with fancy
weapons. In some cases, a single grenade, rocket, or freeze
ray shot can be the difference between beating an enemy and
not.
There are 8 levels. When you beat them, you'll get a
nice ending.
If you leave LD standing around long enough, he'll do
a handstand just for you.
Different enemies have different behavior. Watch them
carefully to learn their weaknesses.
Don't do anything with Little Dude you wouldn't do
with yourself. There are new hazards in LD2.
In LD2, there will sometimes be oppurtunities for LD
to be crushed by a giant block or a wall. This kills him
instantly. Luckily, the enemies are vulnerable to this too.
When Little Dude is flashing, he can be hurt by very
few things. In fact, the only things that can hurt him are
instant-death hazards. Little Dude flashes briefly each time
he's injured, and whenever he picks up the rare invincibility
item.
Save whenever you come to a save point. Probably.
If you leave a room while fighting an enemy, it will
regain its health.
Gather extra lives. You'll need them.

**************************************************************
Conclusion-
If you have any problems, questions, comments, or
anything, please e-mail me at the address given above. I try
to respond to every message for which a response is
appropriate or needed.
Because LD2 is so complicated, I couldn't explain all
of the objects important to the game. Hopefully, everything
will become clear as you play the game. If not, please e-mail
me, as I said above.
