Nifty Netting Granny Square

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn the color of your choice
Size H hook

          to begin:  chain 4, join with sl st to first ch to 
          form a ring

          Round 1: ch 3, 2 dc in ring,  {ch 3, 3 dc in ring} 
          3 times, ch 3, join with sl st to top of beg ch 3

          Round 2: ch 4, skip first dc, dc in next dc, * ch 1, 
          skip 1st ch st, [dc, ch 3, dc] in next ch st, ch 1,
          dc in next dc, ch 1, skip 1 dc, dc in next dc, 
          repeat from * twice more, ch 1 skip first ch st,  
          [dc, ch 3, dc] in next ch, ch 1, join with sl st 
          to 3rd ch of beg ch-4

          Round 3:  ch 4, [dc in next dc, ch 1] twice * skip 
          first ch st, [dc, ch 3, dc] in next ch st, ch 1, 
          [dc in next dc, ch 1] four times, repeat from * 
          twice more, skip first ch st, [dc, ch 3, dc]in 
          next ch, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, join with sl 
          st to 3rd ch of beg ch-4

          Round 4:  ch 4, [dc in next dc, ch 1] three times 
          * skip first ch st, [dc, ch 3, dc] in next ch st, 
          ch 1, [dc in next dc, ch 1] six times, repeat 
          from * twice more, skip first ch st, [dc, ch 3, 
          dc] in next ch, ch 1, [dc in next dc, ch 1] 
          twice, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-4

          Round 5: ch 1, sc in same ch as joining, * sc 
          in each ch sp and dc across to the ch-3 sp, 5 sc
          in the ch-3 sp, repeat from * three more times,
          sc in each ch cp and dc across to beg sc, join
          with sl st

          Finish off and weave in ends
