Hello!! My Name is David Jose de Lopes Almeida and I am Portuguese. 1977 was a good year because I was born in Porto, "the city that was never conquered", but I live in a nearby city called Vila Nova de Gaia or in Latin "Cálem". I used to be a management/business student in the University of Minho, in Braga. Portugal. In the academic year of 1997/98 I studied in the University of Luton, United Kingdom, due to the exchange student programme called "Socrates/Erasmus".
At the present time, I am a finance auditor for the world biggest company in the area, PwC - Pricewaterhousecoopers.
My soccer team is FC Porto, well known in Europe as "the Blue Dragons". I also support Braga, the second best team in the world.
I love poetry and literature and therefore I decided to dedicate this site to the fostering of ideas, poems, thoughts, quotes, writings, sayings, and so on. Please, do feel free to sent quotes, writings, and poems. I will be pleased to hang them on my site.
I often play the guitar, specially when I am more emotive than usual, happy or sad. When I play the guitar, I travel, I fly throughout the clouds... I consider myself a Poet and a Dreamer... Someone that refuses to believe on the dark side of the Human Race. I always face life with a physical smile and a personality loaded with 'positive waves'.
It was due to an enterprise called "the Portuguese Discoveries", that it was proven that there were other continents after all and that the world was round. Travelling and discovering is in our Blood as well as in our minds... Getting to know different people and cultures from all around the globe made me realise that the Planet Earth is becoming gradually a "global Village". I believe we are made of pieces and bits of the places and countries we have visited or lived.
My last and eternal words goes to the "beautiful sex", which is in my opinion the Feminine one, of course. Allow me to honour all roman gods for the charm and beauty they supplied the ladies with.
