Lido Beach

A sunset, waves
in perfect rhythm
lap the beach
together,
sprinkling stars upon
the ocean, painting
color on the sand
once white and pure,
then fading first to
blue, then black,
the twilight stealing
sparkle from the ocean
and returning twinkle
to the night.
