Objective C:
Without the use of the course text or class notes, the student will identify the benefits of a managing criminal investigation program.

A close monitoring of investigator productivity by supervisors allows the
rewarding of superior performance and the elimination of low performers.

Resources can be targeted against areas of investigative interest like high profile
offenders and specific crime patterns.
rejection of favoritism as the basis for the selection of detectives -
By allowing some of the easier solved cases to be handled at the patrol level,
investigative supervisors have the opportunity to view investigative talent in the
patrol force. When openings occur in investigative unit, persons with
demonstrated talent can be used to fill openings.
