Ayeka is the first crown princess of the planet Jurai, she has a younger sister
named Sasami, and is the daughter of Azusa (emporer of Jurai) and Misiaki
(second empress of Jurai). Ayeka spent 700 years of her life in suspended
animation while looking for her half brother/fiance Yousho. Yousho had left
Jurai in persuit of the space pirate, Ryoko, and after waiting a long time for
him to return Ayeka left Jurai to find him. Her ship, the Ryu-oh, awoke her
from her suspended animation when it discovered signs of Ryoko on Earth. Too
bad for Ayeka, the warrant for Ryoko's arrest had just expired, but do you think
that's going to stop her? I think not! Ayeka was determined to make Ryoko pay
for taking Yousho away from her, and teleports Tenchi's home containing Ryoko,
as well as Tenchi and his family, into her ship. But, Ryoko escapes, taking
Tenchi along with her, summons her own ship, Ryo-ohki, and attacks Ayeka. Both
ships are badly damaged in the attack, and they crash to Earth, next to the
Makaski shrine. Thus, Ayeka and Sasami, who accompanied her sister on the
search, are stranded on Earth. And, excepting Tenchi's offer, moves into the
Makaski residence, which is close by the shrine.
At first Ayeka had a hard time ajusting to life on Earth, but after spending
some time with the new Ryo-ohki (Ryoko's space ship in the form of an adorable
creature called a cabbit) and some touching moments with Tenchi, she starts to
cheer up. When Ayeka finds out that Tenchi is a descendant of Yousho, she begins
to accept him even more. Ultimately, Ayeka falls for Tenchi and becomes
determined to gain his love. Unfortunatly for her, Ryoko also has her sights
set on Tenchi and this leads to much fighting and arguing between then two of
them.
